Touching Others for Jesus

Mark chapter five contains the story of the woman with an issue of blood. In verses 27-29 we read: When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. (NIV) She was healed, and Jesus said her faith made her whole (v.36). Word of her experience spread so much that Mark 6:56 says, “And wherever he went — into villages, towns or countryside — they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed.” (NIV) We don’t know her name, but that woman’s touching Jesus touched the lives of many others encouraging them to touch Jesus, and “all who touched him were healed.”

The man Jesus delivered from a legion of demons wanted to follow Him. Jesus told him instead to – “Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” (Mark 5:20 NIV)  Preacher and song writer V.B. (Vep) Ellis penned it well: “Let me touch Jesus, so that others may know and be blessed.”

Make it a point to tell others how Jesus touched and changed your life, so they can touch Him too.
