Let’s Listen

Jesus’ transfiguration is recorded in all three synoptic gospels – Matthew (17), Mark (9) and Luke (9). It gives us an earthly glimpse of His heavenly glory. Jesus was preparing His disciples for His soon coming arrest and crucifixion, and He had some things to say to them. Peter also had some things to say to Jesus. Thing was, Peter forgot to let Jesus go first (Mark 9:7). Truth be known, most of us can relate to Peter. Every time we are thinking about what to say while the other person is still speaking proves the point. It has been said, “God gave us two ears and one mouth. Gives you an idea which we should do more of.”

First thing today, let’s take time and listen to Jesus –

  • “He who has ears, let him hear” (Matthew 13:9 NIV).
  • So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17 BBE)
  • “Everyone should be quick to listen” (James 1:19 NIV)

It just makes sense!
